Salesforce on AWS
Salesforce, a leading customer relationship management (CRM) company, named AWS its primary cloud provider in 2016 leading to a global strategic partnership focused on technical alignment and joint development. Leveraging AWS's storage, compute, and AI capabilities, Salesforce achieves faster regional deployment, cost savings, and enhanced data processing capabilities.
Salesforce's Cloud Journey
Salesforce deploys new business applications — such as virtual call centers that empower high-velocity sales teams with Amazon Connect, AWS AI, and machine learning (ML) services — and spins up new regions in weeks instead of months, saves on infrastructure costs, stores and processes exabytes of data in a data lake, and creates billions of 360-degree customer profiles.
Simplifying Data Management with Amazon S3 & Salesforce Data Cloud
[2024] Salesforce Data Cloud helps businesses unify customer data, and with Storage Browser for Amazon S3, it will be easier than ever to navigate and manage data stored in S3 directly through Data Cloud. By removing data silos and providing authorized end users with direct access to S3, this solution provides a single source of truth for data. With Storage Browser for S3, Data Cloud customers can browse, upload, download, and manage files within an intuitive interface—freeing developers to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure. This integration will enhance the experience for Data Cloud customers thanks to its scalability, reliability, and simplicity.

How to Accelerate the Generative AI Revolution in Sales
[2024] Together with Salesforce, AWS is leveraging the integration of data and LLMs to drive sales effectiveness in its own operations. AI is powered by models from Amazon Bedrock (to build and scale generative AI applications with foundational models) and Amazon SageMaker (a fully managed infrastructure to build, train, and deploy FMs). AI generates account summaries for sales teams, enabling us to more quickly plan for customer meetings and more precisely tailor solutions and identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities. Also, AI synthesizes an array of internal and external data sources (including SalesForce, usage, market research, web search, financial filings, and breaking news) into a consumable narrative of a customer’s needs, challenges, and growth potential. It also provides actionable recommendations and ML insights. Account teams using the summaries have been able to shave, on average, 35 minutes off customer meeting prep and generate 4.9% higher pipeline value.

It also wanted to help healthcare teams garner a 360-degree view of patients. Using Amazon Chime SDK, the company built Salesforce Health Cloud: Virtual Care on AWS, which simplifies virtual appointments for patients and healthcare providers.

Salesforce Data Cloud Integrates with Amazon SageMaker
[2024] Salesforce Data Cloud is a customer facing, real-time data lake that gives enterprises a 360 view of their customer's engagement with their brand. Bobby Brill, Sr. Director of Product at Salesforce shares how Salesforce's 'Bring your own AI' integration with Amazon SageMaker enables organizations and their data scientists to use Amazon's cloud machine learning platform directly with data from Salesforce Data Cloud to build new AI models tailored to the unique needs of their business, and use them in real time across the Salesforce platform.
